Cash register Part 1

This is my beautiful old cash register that I will use as the focal point of my exhibition at BRAG ( Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery).......about banking. Does anyone out there know how to get this machine functional again.  The money draw won't open. The keys are in a locked position too.  Its very rusty.

 I'm not sure I will be able to get it operational..
