ABOUT THIS BLOG

I posted my first blog on May 27th 2010.

The purpose of the blog initialy was to follow my journey as I prepared to exhibit 50 sculptures at Maryborough's new gallery, the fabulous  'Gatakers Artspace'. However I am continuing the blog for artists and friends.

I commenced my art practice in 1988 having recently shifted to Bundaberg from Melbourne, Australia.

Over the years I also worked in the family business..a Swim School with my husband Alan who was pursuing his swim coaching career.

I am a self taught artist. I commenced my art practice as a painter, but over a number of years, sculptural forms have become more evident in my work and I have really enjoyed the playful aspect of working with found objects ever since.

I have been very active,  exhibiting in venues throughout Australia. (You can see my CV page for further information.)
I have semi-retired now and find I am busier than ever pursuing my art practice more comprehensively.

The 'Suburban Goddess' sculptures were developed with a grant from the Australia Council for the Arts in 2006-2007.
I had pledged, that I would exhibit the sculptures at a future time.  I booked 'Gatakers Artspace" for that purpose.

The images shown here are of the gallery space, the Rollo Nicholson Room, where my exhibition was held.

Dec 2010 . I decided to keep my blog going while my son Alan is in London.

PS:    Well it is November 2011 and am still writing this blog.  I have recently achieved my 8,000th page views, which is wonderful.  I guess writing the blog  has just become a habit.   Please I would love to hear your comments from time to time.   C x
